5 Things to Make Your Life Sweeter Right Away

It's the new year, and if you're anything like me, you've made your resolutions for the upcoming 52 weeks.

One of my resolutions was to take a few minutes a day and actually concentrate on me!  In doing so, I decided to put together a list of what I came up with and share it with you.  I would love to hear your thoughts on this, too!

1. Play Princess
We've all wanted, at some point or other, to be treated like a princess.  I would put on my moms heels and dresses and sneak bits of her makeup.  I would giggle at myself in front of her (at the time seemingly) huge makeup table mirror and pretend I was a princess.  These days I sometimes feel more like Grizabella than Cinderella.  So I decided to get dressed up to the nines, once a week, hair and makeup and my best work clothes.  No one will see me in my home office, but I will feel beautiful!

2. Scent-sations
I found a great deal on some pretty scented oil diffusers and splurged on some expensive scented oil.  Just a few whiffs take me away...

3. Royal Cosmetics
Turning my bathroom into a spa (well, I already have the scented oil!)  I got some nice bath products for Christmas, and plan to take one night a week to soak in the tub and do my nails.  I never seem to find time for anything more than a quick file, but I am determined to make the time this year!  It always feels so great to walk around with perfectly manicured hands and pedicured feet!

4. Sing
As a kid I loved to sing.  Somewhere between being a teenager and growing up, having a family, a job, responsibilities etc etc, I forgot I really love singing.  Time to remember to throw on some musical CD's and start belting it out again.  Singing can be such a tension reliever.

5. Switch from Coffee to Green Tea
I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but old habits die hard.  I am going to switch out my first morning cup of coffee for a bold cup of green tea.  Green tea is not only great at getting you up and revving to go, but it supposedly helps you to lose weight.  And while I'm more or less comfortable with my plus size self, the holiday season has left me feeling bloated and well, yucky!  So here's hoping to get rid of that.

So what are your resolutions for the new year?  Or your best tips for taking yourself as seriously as you would the rest of your family?
